| Resumen en español | En el presente trabajo se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de 20 artículos de investigación, con el propósito de analizar los patrones metodológicos que algunos autores siguen para evaluar la producción y la productividad de investigación en los últimos años, con la intención de hacer algunas reflexiones que orienten una forma o método para evaluar la productividad investigativa en el Instituto Pedagógico de Barquisimeto. Los artículos se tomaron de publicaciones que se encuentran en el Centro de Recursos de Información Educativa (CERINED) y de revistas electrónicas, desde 1996 hasta la fecha. Este análisis permitió develar que no existe uniformidad de criterio para evaluar la producción científica de las universidades, la orientación metodológica que se sigue en su valoración es básicamente descriptiva y cuantitativa y utilizan como fuente de información bases de datos del PPI, SCI, Web Science, entre otras. El enfoque epistemológico de los investigadores que llevan a cabo dichos proyectos es evidentemente positivista. Se recomienda, para realizar futuras investigaciones sobre la productividad investigativa, unificar criterios de evaluación e incorporar la dimensión humana medida en términos cualitativos a la dimensión instrumental medida en términos cuantitativos |
| Resumen en inglés | In the present paper a bibliographic revision of 20 research articles was carried out, with the purpose of analyzing the methodological patterns that some authors follow for the evaluation of the production and research productivity within the past years. All this is intended to do some thinking that will lead to a way or method for the evaluation of the research productivity in the Pedagogical Institute of Barquisimeto. The articles were taken from publications that are found in the Educational Information Resources Center (CERINED, Spanish acronym) and from electronic magazines, from 1996 to date. This analysis allowed revealing that there is no criteria uniformity for the evaluation of the scientific production of the universities. The methodological orientation followed in its appraisal is basically descriptive and quantitative, and they utilize as a source of information databases from PPI, SCI, Web Science, among others. The epistemological approach of the researchers who carry out such projects is clearly positivist. It is recommended, when making future investigations on research productivity, to standardize evaluation criteria and to incorporate the human dimension measured in qualitative terms to the instrumental dimension measured in quantitative terms |
