| Resumen en inglés | Objective: To explore the ontology of the digital as a challenge to information management within the context of memory and heritage. This study examines the scenario of digital predominance and its relationship with the contemporary challenges faced by information units. It argues that digital assumes a dominant role, leading to a reconfiguration of the entire informational landscape and prompting a profound reformatting of institutional practices. Methodology: It presents a theoretical and exploratory approach based on the concept of the digital object within the informational context, from the perspective of digital humanities. It examines the relationship between information in digital form and how its heuristics present challenges for the management of these digital collections by information units. Results: It discusses the complexity of rights issues related to collections in the digital context. It highlights how access to collections, especially digital ones, can be hindered by these rights concerns. The OpenGLAM movement is presented as an alternative for formalizing the use of collections in the information environment, based on the requalification enabled by contemporary digital practices.Conclusions: The challenge for information institutions is continually evolving, requiring them to keep pace with technological transformations and innovations. |
| Resumen en español | Objetivo: Explorar la ontología digital como desafío a la gestión de la información en el contexto de la memoria y el patrimonio. Identifica el escenario de predominio digital y su relación con los desafíos contemporáneos que enfrentan las unidades de información. Sostiene que lo digital asume un papel protagónico que determina una reconfiguración en todo el campo informacional, deliberando un profundo reformateo de las prácticas institucionales. Metodología: Presenta un enfoque teórico y exploratorio basado en el concepto de objeto digital en el contexto informacional desde el punto de vista de las humanidades digitales, considerando la relación entre la información bajo representación digital y cómo sus heurísticas plantean desafíos a la gestión de estas colecciones digitales por unidades de información. Resultados: Se sostiene que la cuestión de los derechos relacionados con las colecciones es altamente compleja para las instituciones en el contexto digital. Advierte que la cuestión del acceso a la colección, amplificada por las colecciones digitales, puede volverse inviable por cuestiones de derechos. Señala el movimiento OpenGLAM como una alternativa para formalizar los usos de las colecciones en el entorno informacional a partir de la recalificación proporcionada por el uso contemporáneo que hacen posible los objetos digitales. Conclusiones: Se afirma que los desafíos que enfrentan las instituciones de información se renuevan progresivamente, obligándolas a mantenerse al ritmo de las transformaciones e innovaciones tecnológicas. |
