| Resumen en español | Para controlar las variables ubicación y nivel socioeconómico se utilizó el Avar múltiple. Antes de la aplicación del programa, el grupo control presentaba mejores resultados académicos en matemáticas y en lenguaje; pero después de la intervención, aunque ambos mejoraron, el grupo experimental logró un índice de mejoramiento mayor que el grupo control, lo que comprueba la eficacia del aprendizaje cooperativo para mejorar el rendimiento académico. Respecto a las variables extrañas, después de la intervención, las instituciones de estrato socioeconómico 1 mejoraron en matemáticas y lenguaje y se ubicaron por encima de las de instituciones de estrato 2, y en cuanto a ubicación, las instituciones rurales mejoraron en matemáticas y lenguaje y se ubicaron por encima de las urbanas |
| Resumen en inglés | The academic achievement results were obtained from the 2012 Saber tests for the pretest and 2017 for the posttest. In the experimental group the teachers applied the cooperative learning program designed by the MEN. In the analysis, the experimental group was compared with the control with the Student's t for independent samples, and the before and after comparisons were made with the Student's t for related samples. To control the variables location and socioeconomic level, the multiple Avar was used. Before the application of the program, the control group presented better academic results in mathematics and language; but after the intervention, although both improved, the experimental group achieved a higher improvement rate than the control group, which proves the effectiveness of cooperative learning to improve academic performance. Regarding the strange variables, after the intervention, the institutions of socioeconomic stratum 1 improved in mathematics and language and were above those of stratum 2 institutions, and in terms of location, rural institutions improved in mathematics and language and they were located above the urban ones |
