| Resumen en español | El presente trabajo analiza la relación entre agricultura, religión y tiempo para entender su centralidad en la representación de la cosmovisión maya. A partir del análisis de tres fuentes, se busca comprender dicha relación, enfocándonos particularmente en el lugar que ocupa el maíz en la misma. Las fuentes a analizar son: Popol Vuh, Calendario Maya y la vasija k5379. La combinación de los tres registros apunta a conocer tanto la expresión de la realidad material como la realidad ideal de dicha sociedad |
| Resumen en inglés | The current paper analyzes the relationship among agriculture, religion and time to understand its relevance in the representation of the Mayan cosmovision. Based on the study of three different sources, we try to understand this relationship, focusing specifcally on the role that corn plays in it. The analyzed sources are the Popol Vuh, the Mayan Calendar and the vase k5379. By combining these three different records we will be able to know the expression of the material and ideal reality of the Mayan society |
