Resumen en inglés | The design of experiment (DOE) ia one of the classical statistical models aimed at determining the factors of process parameters that influence the variable of interest (response) . In this context the application of of design of experiments in metallurgical processes, such as leaching of minerals, can to assess the use of alternative reagents or the effect of changes in process conditions. This work presents a laboratory study of the acid leaching of spharalite ore concentrate. The qualitative impact of two types of acids (sulfuric and hydrochloric) and different oxidants (ferric ion, oxygen and ozone) was evaluate. The best leaching conditions for a type of acid were determined using 2 exprimental series: 2(3) factorial and Taguchi L9 designs. Data analysis with ANOVA AND univariate curves were used. The results indicate that design of experients determine the most important significant effects of process variables on the recovery of zinc through a small number of tests |
