| Resumen en español | En este ensayo, el autor analiza cómo ha cambiado la relación tradicional entre las libertades y la seguridad de los individuos. Del planteamiento liberal en el que las libertades básicas deberían ser lo más amplias posible y compatibles con las de los demás, se ha pasado, a partir de los actos terroristas, a restringir algunas de esas libertades. Apunta que sólo teniendo en mente los fundamentos, lo que los liberales clásicos y contemporáneos dijeron sobre las libertades y teniendo en cuenta la situación actual, se podrá dar una respuesta fundamentada |
| Resumen en inglés | In this essay, the author analyzes how the traditional relationship between liberties and the security of individuals has changed. From the liberal approach in which basic liberties should be as broad as possible and compatible with the others, it has happened, since the recent terrorist acts, that some of those freedoms are restricted. The author reflects on this problem, and wonders about the restrictive limits of liberties and if it is valid to limit some and not others. He points out that only with the fundamentals in mind, what the classical and contemporary liberals said about liberties and taking into account the current situation, can a well-founded answer be given |
