| Resumen en español | En el quehacer analítico es el cuerpo quien carga y ancla el sentido, una especie de tierra. Sin la tierra (empírica) no hay vuelo (teórico), y viceversa. Pero este cuerpo no está dado, no existe como tampoco existe el discurso, sino lo que construimos, hacemos de lo “mucho” o “todo” que nos rodea un “algo” que nos permite mirar de cerca, descubrir y detectar las marcas del habla como hacer significante. El artículo presenta un recuento metodológico de una experiencia empírica, la lectura analítica de la intensa producción discursiva de la guerrilla zapatista y sus efectos significantes en el mundo, eso es, su recepción en foros intelectuales, movimientos y actores sociales y en la prensa escrita, dentro pero sobre todo fuera de la escena mexicana. Tanto en la recopilación del acervo pero más que nada en la conformación del corpus se trataba de darle un “orden justificado” a la más amplia variedad de materiales, géneros y fuentes. Este corpus, aunque guarde estrecha y “justificada” relación con el todo-mundo, representa un universo propio y ficticio formado por los intereses y saberes preestablecidos de quien lo construye. Ordenar y seleccionar aquellos materiales filtrados por criterios léxicos y coyunturales no fue sólo punto de partida sino ya parte integral del análisis, entendido como un delicado ir y venir entre texto y contexto, acercamiento y distanciamiento, niveles micro y macro de lectura, desde planos panorámicos (los titulares de los periódicos, por ejemplo) hasta el Close-Up (un close reading de un comunicado entero). Aunque el artículo se centra en las premisas conceptuales y metodológicas de esta lectura-mirada, presenta sintéticamente un par de hallazgos, como la interactividad, la apuesta por la paradoja o el antiesencialismo estratégico de la insurgencia discursiva del nuevo Zapatismo |
| Resumen en inglés | In the process of analysis, it is the body which bears and anchors meaning, as a kind of base or ground. Without the ground (the empirical base), there is no (theoretical) flight, and vice versa. But this body is not a given, it has no a priori existence, just like discourse itself; rather, it is something we construct, creating from the many things or from everything around us a “something” that we can examine up close, detecting and discovering the traces of speech as a meaning-creating activity. In this article we present a methodological summary of an empirical experience, the analytical reading of the intense discursive production of the Zapatista guerrilla movement and its effects worldwide as a creator of meaning, that is, its reception by intellectual fora, movements and social actors, as well as in the press, both within Mexico and, above all, outside it. In the data collection process, but more importantly still in the construction of the corpus, our goal was to create a “reasoned order” among the most diverse variety of materials, genres and sources. This corpus, though closely and explicitly connected to the world at large, also represents its own fictive universe, shaped by the pre-established interests and knowledge of the person(s) constructing it. The selection and organization of materials first assembled on the basis of lexical and situational criteria was not merely a starting point but rather an integral part of the analysis, understanding the latter as moving carefully to and fro between text and context, close-ups and distance views, and macro and micro-levels of reading, alternating between panoramic scans (of newspaper headers, for instance) and close readings (of a single press release, for example).
