| Resumen en inglés | It is function of journalism to show everyday life, and it is function of the social sciences to inform the meaning of everyday life. But if both journalists and social scientists have the sociability as an object, it is possible to say they claim to the same intent. By bringing out the events that make up the reality and interpret them in an exchange point of view, both collaborate in forming a hermeneutic circle which refers to knowledge of the world and are also thinking about the intersection of practices that involving both fields, and thinking about the interpenetration of processes of interpretation and visibility. From this point of convergence, this paper seeks to discuss the place of journalism in the role of knowledge about everyday life, reflecting on the methodological dimension of its information practices. | Resumen en portugués | Ao jornalismo cabe dar a ver a vida cotidiana, às ciências sociais cabe dar a conhecer o significado desta vida. Mas, se jornalistas e cientistas sociais têm o cotidiano como horizonte, é possível afirmar que ambos comungam de uma mesma pretensão. Ao fazer emergir os acontecimentos que compõem a realidade e interpretá-los a luz de um ou outro saber, os dois campos colaboram na formação de um círculo hermenêutico que remete ao conhecimento do mundo e que faz também pensar na interseção de práticas que os envolvem, na interpenetração de processos de interpretação e visibilidade. Partindo desse ponto de convergência, este texto busca debater o lugar do jornalismo no rol de saberes sobre o cotidiano, refletindo sobre dimensões de suas práticas informativas. Nesse percurso, chama-se atenção para formas de legitimação do caráter interpretativo do jornalismo, pensando-o a partir do uso e do reconhecimento que se faz dele por outras áreas |
