| Resumen en español | El relato de la exclaustración y el camino hacia la restauración de esta comunidad concepcionista —la cuarta en fundarse en la Ciudad de México de la primera orden femenina en el Nuevo Mundo— expone el sentir y la vivencia de las religio-sas. Las monjas del Real Monasterio de Jesús María fueron obligadas, el 13 de febrero de 1861, a abandonar el recinto, y en 1863 sufrieron la exclaustración definitiva. Aquí se muestra la lucha que emprendieron por recuperar y continuar su historia. María Guadalupe de Jesús Sacramentado se abocó a rescatar la comunidad y logró su restauración en 1963. | Resumen en inglés | The story of secularization and the path toward the restoration of this Conceptionist community—the fourth founded in Mexico City of the first female order in the New World—shows the feelings and experiences of these nuns. On February 13, 1861, the nuns of the Royal Monastery of Jesús María were forced to leave the convent and in 1863 they suffered de-finitive expulsion. Their struggle to recover and continue their history is described. Mother María Guadalupe de Jesús Sacramentado set out to rescue the community and she achieved its restoration in 1963. Verbal, written, photographic, sculptural, and pictorial testimony are the contributions of these nuns to the history of Mexico |
