| Resumen en español | Objetivo: El presente artículo de investigación tuvo como objetivo general caracterizar las acciones que se desarrollan con el fin de contribuir al perfeccionamiento de la gestión del patrimonio documental de la Universidad de Matanzas para su preservación y socialización. Metodología: Se abordaron los principales fundamentos teórico-metodológicos relacionados al patrimonio universitario, la gestión del patrimonio documental, la preservación y socialización del mismo. La perspectiva metodológica asumida, predominantemente, fue la cualitativa. Se emplearon para la recogida de información la entrevista semiestructurada, los cuestionarios y el análisis de documentos. Para el procesamiento de la misma se utilizó la técnica de triangulación de datos. Resultados y Discusión: Como resultado se caracterizó el patrimonio documental, se identificaron las principales acciones que se realizan en la institución para la gestión de dicho patrimonio en el período 2018-2022. En esta institución se preservan bienes patrimoniales con repercusión para el desarrollo de la ciencia en el territorio matancero y nacional, en el último quinquenio se han elaborado políticas y llevado a cabo acciones con el fin de gestionarlos y socializarlos. Conclusiones: Son insuficientes las acciones desarrolladas y se requiere elevar la capacitación de los responsables de estas y la mejora de infraestructuras que contribuyan a su salvaguarda. | Resumen en inglés | Objective: he present investigation article had as general objective to characterize the actions that are developed with the purpose of contributing to the improvement of the management of the documental heritage of the University of Matanzas for its preservation and socialization. Methodology: The main theoretical-methodological foundations related to the university heritage, the management of the documental heritage, the preservation and socialization of the same one were approached. The assumed methodological perspective, predominantly, it was the qualitative one. They were used for the collection of information the interview semiestructurada, the questionnaires and the analysis of documents. For the prosecution of the same one the technique of mix of data was used. Results and discussion: As a result the documental heritage was characterized, the main actions were identified that they are carried out in the institution for the management of this heritage in the period 2018-2022. In this institution heritage goods are preserved with repercussion for the development of the science in this territory and national, in the last five year period they have been elaborated political and carried out actions with the purpose of to negotiate them and to socialize them. Conclusions: They are insufficient the developed actions and it requires the training of those responsible for these and the improvement of infrastructures that contribute their safeguard to rise.
