| Resumen en inglés | "Now I let the patient determine the subject of our daily work, and so I start from the surface that the unconscious offers for the time being, and I am getting fragmented, interwoven, in different contexts and distributed between very distant eras all the material corresponding to the solution of a symptom, but in spite of this apparent disadvantage, the new technique is far superior to the primitive one, and without dispute, the only possible one.For the incompleteness of my analytical results, I was forced to To imitate the example of those fortunate investigators who manage to extract the remains, not by less precious mutilations, from past times, completing them later by deduction and according to already known models.I decided, therefore, to proceed, analogously, although noting always, like an honest archaeologist, where the authentic ends and the reconstructed begins.Of another different insufficiency, I am directly and intentionally guilty. Indeed, I have not exposed, in general, the work of interpretation that had to fall on the associations and communications of the patient, but only the results of it. In this way, and except in regard to dreams, only in some points does the technique of analytic investigation appear detailed. With this clinical history I was especially interested in showing the determination of the symptoms and the internal structure of the neurosis. An attempt to carry out the other work simultaneously would have produced an irremediable confusion, since in order to substantiate the technical rules, empirically found for the most part, it would have been indispensable to present together the material of many clinical histories. However, in the present case, it should not be believed that the omission of the technique has shortened its exposure. " |
| Resumen en español | "Ahora dejo que el paciente mismo determine el tema de nuestra labor cotidiana. Parto así, cada vez, de la superficie que lo inconsciente ofrece de momento a su atención, y voy obteniendo fragmentado, entretejido, en diversos contextos y distribuido entre épocas muy distantes todo el material correspondiente a la solución de un síntoma. Mas, a pesar de esta desventaja aparente, la nueva técnica es muy superior a la primitiva, y sin disputa, la única posible. Ante lo incompleto de mis resultados analíticos, me vi obligado a imitar el ejemplo de aquellos afortunados investigadores que logran extraer a la luz los restos, no por mutilados menos preciosos, de épocas pretéritas, completándolos luego por deducción y conforme a modelos ya conocidos. Me decidí, pues, a proceder, análogamente, aunque haciendo constar siempre, como un honrado arqueólogo, dónde termina lo auténtico y comienza lo reconstruido. De otra distinta insuficiencia soy yo directa e intencionadamente culpable. En efecto, no he expuesto, en general, la labor de interpretación que hubo de recaer sobre las asociaciones y comunicaciones del enfermo, sino tan sólo los resultados de la misma. De este modo, y salvo en lo que respecta a los sueños, sólo en algunos puntos aparece detallada la técnica de la investigación analítica. Con este historial clínico me importaba especialmente mostrar la determinación de los síntomas y la estructura interna de la neurosis. Una tentativa de llevar a cabo simultáneamente la otra labor hubiera producido una confusión irremediable, pues para fundamentar las reglas técnicas, empíricamente halladas en su mayor parte, hubiera sido indispensable presentar reunido el material de muchos historiales clínicos. Sin embargo, en el caso presente no debe creerse que la omisión de la técnica haya abreviado gran cosa su exposición". |
