| Resumen en español | El dominio de los ibéricos sobre los pueblos americanos implicó trasladar a las tierras de conquista y poblamiento concepciones y modelos arquitectónicos y artísticos de Europa. Imágenes y representaciones de poder fueron tan importantes como los ejércitos para afianzar la invención de América por parte del colonialismo ibérico y europeo. Representaciones de civilización, barbarie y utopía, mediadas por el aparato administrativo y religioso de la península, fueron también formas de dominio sobre pueblos y culturas ancestrales. En esta guerra de concepciones e imágenes surgió un nuevo imaginario americano que a la postre dio base y fundamento a las representaciones de poder de los estados nacionales americanos |
| Resumen en inglés | The dominance of the Iberian Peninsula on the American peoples involved transferring the land of conquest and settlement concepts and models of architectural and artistic Europe. Images and representations of power were as important as the armies of the invention to secure America from the Iberian and European colonialism. Representations of civilization and barbarism utopia, mediated by the religious and administrative apparatus of the peninsula, were also forms of domination of peoples and cultures.
