Resumen en inglés During the last decade in Colombia, transformations can be identified in reference to the teaching-learning processes aimed at highlighting the importance of inclusion and diversity in the educational environment. However, the predominant heterosexist model in Colombian society creates difficulties to include in the academic field, perspectives of diversity and inclusion towards the LGBTI community. The present study evaluated the attitudes of a sample of 751 psychology students (131 men, 610 women and 10 participants who did not identify with either sex) from eight public and private universities in the city of Bogotá, the average age of the participants was 22.6 years, with an age range ranging from 16 to 59 years. To evaluate homophobic attitudes, the Peréz and Urriola Homosexual Behavior Scale was used, this instrument has a total of 43 items in a Likert measure scale of five response options that are grouped into a total of six (6) factors: phobia, acceptance, rejection, naturalness, rights and violence. The results indicate homophobic attitudes among psychology students, evidencing a higher prevalence in men than in women; it is highlighted that having homosexual friends favors more positive attitudes and acceptance towards homosexuality, in turn, religiosity or the absence of it is found as an important factor that influences the acceptance or not of homosexuality in psychology students; the group of non-believing and non-practicing students showed a better attitude towards homosexuality while in students who describe themselves as believers, a difficulty in the acceptance of homosexuality is identified. It is important that towards the future, strategies that favor the approach of inclusion and diversity, which highlight the construction of gender, gender stereotypes, and respect for diversity and non-discrimination are promoted within the university environment
