Resumen en español La Biotecnología y la Ética Científica deben comprender que la investigación que se realice con material genético humano debe centrarse en metas no humanizantes y sobre reglas moralmente realistas. Tal inquietud constituye el ethos de esta primera aproximación al tema desarrollado en este trabajo, teniendo presente que si bien, la vida humana no es patentable, es preciso indagar hasta dónde debe mantenerse esta regla en el caso del patentamiento de los procedimientos científicos que han permitido a la humanidad conocerse, objetivamente, a sí misma, a partir de la investigación científica del material genético humano
Resumen en inglés Biotechnology and scientific ethics should understand that research carried out using human genetic material should be centered on non-human goals and on rules that are morally realistic. This concern represents the ethos of this first approach towards the subject matter developed in the present work. Even though human life is not patentable, it is necessary to question to the extension of this rule regarding the case of patenting scientific procedures that have allowed humanity to understand itself from the scientific research of genetic human material
