Resumen en inglés The cerebellopontine angle tumors are a diverse group of tumors that develop between the tentorium of the cerebelum and the pons, region in which the internal auditory canal is implied, and they account for 8 to 10% of all intracraneal tumors. Vestibular schwannomas are the most frequently kind of these tumors. When they are presented in the bilateral form, they associate to type 2 neurofibromatosis. In these cases there is a family history of neurofibromatosis, but they can be presented in a spontaneous way. The diagnosis of this pathology includes a battery of audiological and electrical tests and imaging of the tumors in order to it be sure of its presence and extension. To decide the handling of the vestibular schwannoma the surgeon should remember that the primary objective is to conserve the life and to have present the natural course of this entity. The second objective is the complete resection of the tumor, avoiding to leave serious neurological sequels, the third are the conservation of the facial nerve and, finally to conserve the audition in the patients that even have it
