| Resumen en inglés | The vegetation is an important natural resource, which is related the fertiles properties of the soil, the maintenance of aquifers, evapotranspiration, carbon fixation and species habitat. However, vegetation indexes are used in studies for temporal analysis of vegetation in different regions for analysis of deforestation and regeneration of biomes. Based on the above, this study is aimed at evaluating the performance of five vegetation indexes RVI, NDVI, NRVI, CTVI and SAVI I by means of subtracting of the orbits images to compare the dynamics of vegetation in the Municipal Forest Orchad Laerth Paiva Gama for the years 1987 and 2010. The NRVI and the SAVI can be used for temporal analysis of the reforestation projects, because they showed results similar to the NDVI; the CTVI is not indicated for temporal analysis of reforestation projects yet, because it had the worst results in the statistical evaluations and in the histogram |
| Resumen en portugués | A vegetação é um importante recurso natural, a qual se relaciona às propriedades férteis dos solos, a manutenção de aquíferos, evapotranspiração, fixação de carbono e habitat de espécies. No entanto, os índices de vegetação são utilizados em estudos temporais para análise da cobertura vegetal em diversas regiões para análise do desmatamento e regeneração de biomas. Diante do exposto, este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o desempenho de cinco índices de vegetação RVI, NDVI, NRVI, CTVI e SAVI por meio da subtração de imagens orbitais para comparar a dinâmica da vegetação no ‘Horto Florestal Municipal Laerth Paiva Gama’ referente aos anos de 1987 e 2010. O NRVI e o SAVI podem ser utilizados para a análise temporal de projetos de reflorestamento, pois apresentaram resultados semelhantes ao do NDVI, já o CTVI não é indicado para a análise temporal de projetos de reflorestamento, pois apresentou os piores resultados nas avaliações estatísticas e do histograma |
