| Resumen en español | Los objetos que complementan la vestimenta y, dentro de estos, los accesorios, son “artilugios” que cubren necesidades estéticas y que están cargados de subjetividad. Por lo mismo son depositarios y reflejo de rasgos de personalidad que comunican a los demás quiénes somos. Cuando los integrantes de una tribu urbana adoptan un objeto para acicalarse y realzar el look, proyectan en él sus deseos y formas de ver la vida, es por esto que dicho accesorio habla a través de su forma, color y textura. También lo hace en términos simbólicos por medio de los valores atribuidos por la tribu. Con base en lo antes expuesto, es que planteo el ejercicio creativo de escoger algún accesorio representativo de una de las distintas tribus urbanas existentes, ya sea en el presente o en el pasado, y realizar un diseño de prendas de vestir que se inspire materialmente en dicho elemento. Pretendo constatar cómo la cultura material es depositaria de elementos simbólicos que la trascienden y que pueden reencarnar en otras producciones materiales como la vestimenta |
| Resumen en inglés | The objects that complement clothing, and furthermore the accessories, are “gadgets” that cover aesthetic needs. They are loaded with subjectivity, so they are holders and reflections of personality traits, that ultimately communicate to others who we are. When the members of an urban tribe adopt an object to groom and enhance a look, they project their desires and ways of seeing life. This is why an accessory speaks through its shape, color and texture. It also does this in symbolic terms, often interpreted by the meaning attributed by such tribe. Always the choice of an object over another will speak of us. This is because the object coincides with what we are, or we believe to be and we try to project. Based on the above, you are challenged with the creative exercise of choosing an accessory which represents one of the different urban tribes that has existed in the past or currently exists, and to make a design of clothing that is materially inspired by said element. In this way, you will observe how from the analysis of an object you can get a design that will carry, whether you like it or not, the symbolism printed on it and all the rest of the value that surrounds it. Through this didactic exercise, I intend to show how the material culture is a carrier of symbolic elements that transcend it and that can reincarnate in other productions such as clothing |
