Distribution of articles by collection
Displays the total number of articles provided by the SciELO collection, distributed by year of publication.
In dark color appear the articles and in light color other documents that correspond to conferences, reviews, editorials, obituaries, and other types of documents.
This information is frequently modified since collections are constantly updated with more recent documents, new journals and, depending on the policies of each collection, retrospective collections are also added.
Distribution of articles by collection and area
Displays the total number of articles provided by thematic area filtered by SciELO collection, distributed by year of publication.
This information is frequently modified since collections are constantly updated with more recent documents, new journals and, depending on the policies of each collection, retrospective collections are also added.
Distribution of articles by collection and journal
Displays the total number of articles provided by journal filtered by SciELO collection, distributed by year of publication.
This information is frequently modified since collections are constantly updated with more recent documents, new journals and, depending on the policies of each collection, retrospective collections are also added.
Distribution of articles by collection and affiliation country
Displays the total number of articles provided by affiliation country of author filtered by SciELO collection, distributed by year of publication.
This information is frequently modified since collections are constantly updated with more recent documents, new journals and, depending on the policies of each collection, retrospective collections are also added.
Distribution of journals by collection
It shows the accumulative number of journals included in each collection per year.
The collections are constantly updated with more recent issues, new journals included and, according to the policies of each collection, retrospective collections are added, which is why subsequent reports will be based on larger collections and statistics will be updated.
Number of issues per journal
Displays the number of fascicles or numbers published by a journal per year
Number of articles per journal
Displays the articles published by journal in a year. In the most recent year, the journal has not finished yet the year of publication. That´s the reason why the final number of published articles is not shown.
This information reflects the productivity of journals and is directly related to its frequency of publication.
Number of references per journal
Displays the total amount of references included in the documents published in the journal, distributed by year of publication.
In other words, are cites that give the documents published in a journal to jobs in which the research is based; these can be journal articles, books, book chapters, proceedings, manuals, technical reports, etc.
Number of citations received by journal
Displays the total number of citations received by journal in a year, irrespective of the year of publication of the cited document; for example: in 2008 all citations received by articles published by the journal in that year and previous years are accounted.
The information of citations received is also susceptible of updating as the SciELO collections are updated. The inclusion of a new journal, particularly of the same subject area, frequently adds citations to journals that are already included in the collection.
*References made to documents published by the same journal are considered self-citations.
Journal impact factor
This indicator aims to identify the most relevant journals or of greater influence in a specific area of study by calculating the frequency with which an "average article" of a journal is cited in a year in particular. Its calculation takes into account the citations received in a window of 2 years.
The impact factor is calculated by dividing the number of citations received in a given year by the articles published in the two previous years, by the total number of articles published in the previous two years.
Example:
Impact factor of journal X
in 2011
=
Citations received in 2011 of publ. art. In 2010+2009
/
Number of articles published in 2010+2009
=
117 citations received in 2011 of publ. art. in 2010+2009
/
212 articles published in 2010+2009
=
0.5519
