| Spanish abstract | La figura del trickster está presente en las mitologías, el folclore y la literatura de todo el mundo, desde el más remoto pasado hasta la actualidad. El trickster encarna la libertad del espíritu humano. Se trata de una figura poderosa y ambivalente: tiene la capacidad de perturbar la norma e introducir tanto el caos como el mal; aunque también puede revelar la verdad y denunciar la desigualdad social. En este trabajo se analiza la dimensión ética-estética del trickster en el campo de la literatura, especialmente en la literatura de América Latina, y se ensaya una clasificación provisional tripartita de esta figura |
| English abstract | The trickster figure is present in the mythologies, the folklore, and the literature of all over the world, from the most distant past to the modern day. The trickster embodies the freedom of the human spirit. It is a powerful and ambivalent figure: it has the ability to disturb the norm and introduce chaos as well as evil; but it can also reveal the truth and denounce social inequality. This paper analyzes the ethic-aesthetic dimension of the trickster in the field of literature, especially in Latin American literature, and it rehearses a tripartite provisional classification of this figure |
