| Spanish abstract | En el presente artículo se realiza una relectura de las tres principales fuentes escritas sobre el incendio mayor de Paracho, Michoacán, el cual ocurrió durante la Revolución Mexicana. Estas presentan omisiones y contradicciones respecto a las causas del incendio, los sucesos de aquel día, así como a las actividades posteriores de los pobladores. Además de someter estas fuentes a una crítica de credibilidad, se aporta información adicional obtenida de fuentes bibliográficas, documentos de archivo y testimonios orales. A través de esto, se intenta dar un primer paso para resolver algunos cabos sueltos respecto a estos hechos y, desde luego, contribuir a la historia regional del final de la etapa armada en la Revolución |
| English abstract | In this article we revisit the three main written sources on the great fire in Paracho Michoacán, occurred during the Mexican Revolution. We find that they present omissions and contradictions regarding the origins of the fire, the precise events of that day and what the dwellers did afterwards. Besides subjecting them to a critical analysis, we provide additional information stemming from bibliographical sources, archive documents and oral testimonies. It is the aim of this research to give a step forward towards tying some loose ends in the matter and to contribute to the enrichment of regional history regarding the last armed phase of the Mexican Revolution |
| Other abstract | Résumé Dans cet article on réalise une relecture des trois principales sources écrites sur l´incendie majeur de Paracho, Michoacán qui se produit pendant la Révolution Mexicaine. On y présente des omissions et contradictions concernant les raisons du brûlage, les évènements de ce jour-là ainsi que les activités postérieures des habitants. On soumettra telles omissions et contradictions à une critique de crédibilité et en plus on apportera d´autres informations par le biais de la bibliographie, des documents d´archive et des témoignages oraux. Avec tout cela, on essaye de donner un premier pas afin de résoudre certains points en suspens à l´égard de ces faits, et bien sûr, contribuer à l´histoire régionale correspondante à la fin de l´étape armée pendant la Révolution |
