| Spanish abstract | Este artículo analiza diferentes posturas de observación en una investigación doctoral en México. Las condiciones específicas de esta investigación, así como su objetivo de implementar un doble proceso, académico y social, en la co-construcción de conocimientos, necesitaron la alternancia entre diferentes estatus del observador. Una observación participante permitió, primero, definir aspectos identitarios del territorio para la posible introducción de una actividad de turismo rural comunitario. Luego, durante una fase de investigación-acción, el observador se volvió actor, incluido en las actividades de reflexión sobre turismo. El texto concluye las relaciones complejas entre el investigador y la comunidad, enfatizando de manera crítica los problemas planteados por la incertidumbre en cuanto al rol del observador en el proceso de investigación-acción |
| English abstract | This paper focuses on various positions of observation in a doctoral research in Mexico. The specific conditions of this research and its aim to set up a double process, academic and social, in the co-construction of knowledge, made it necessary for the observer to switch between different statuses. At first, in order to discuss the possibility to start a rural community based tourism activity, a participating observation helped to define the territory through the perception of identities. Then, in the course of a research-action process, the observer became an actor integrated in the discussion on the subject of tourism. This article explores the complex relationships between the scholar and the community and underlines in a critical perspective the issues that stem from the unsettled position of the observer in the research-action process |
| Other abstract | Cet article analyse différentes positions d'observation dans une recherche doctorale au Mexique. Les conditions spécifiques de cette recherche, ainsi que son objectif de mettre en marche un double processus, académique et social, dans la co-construction de connaissances, ont requis l'alternance entre différents statuts de l'observateur. Une observation participante a d'abord permis de définir des aspects identitaires du territoire pour la possible introduction d'une activité de tourisme rural communautaire. Ensuite, pendant la phase d'investigation-action, l'observateur est devenu acteur, y compris dans les activités de réflexion sur le tourisme. L'article se conclut sur les relations complexes entre le chercheur et la communauté, en mettant l'accent de manière critique sur les problèmes posés dus à l'incertitude quant au rôle d'observateur dans le processus d'investigation-action |
