English abstract This essay presents a series of discussion elements on the concepts of equality and justice in democratic societies in order to analyze the specific role of neozapatismo in its demands for the integration of indigenous groups into the political, social and economical agenda of contemporary Mexico. Therefore, it discusses the insufficiency of electoral democracy to forge structural changes that ease the serious representativity deficit of political parties. For this reason, there is an urge to move towards a model of radical democracy that integrates the most diverse social actors –especially non privileged minorities-, and that observes social antagonisms as an issue for debate and discussion among citizens with no distinctions, avoiding a priori contempt between these social actors
