| Spanish abstract | Se analizan dos estrategias implementadas, durante un periodo de diez años, en la Universidad del Norte para la formación de jóvenes universitarios en investigación: el Programa Semillero de Investigadores y el Programa Jóvenes Investigadores. Mediante estas estrategias en la Universidad se han formado una gran cantidad de profesionales con perfil investigativo y se ha incentivado la actividad investigativa de forma interdisciplinaria en sus estudiantes. El Semillero de Investigadores de la Universidad es un programa que está dirigido a los estudiantes de pregrado a partir del cuarto semestre, de los diferentes programas académicos de la Institución. Se ofrece al estudiante como una actividad extracurricular, libre y espontánea para los estudiantes interesados; cuenta con un proceso sistematizado de inscripción, evaluación y selección lo que permite al final del proceso escoger a un grupo selecto de estudiantes que por su interés y motivación por mejorar sus competencias investigativas ingresan a él. Este proceso se realiza anualmente y en promedio se seleccionan un grupo de 60 jóvenes semilleros. Los elementos que destacan la experiencia desarrollada son; el fortalecimiento de la investigación formativa y articulación con la actividad en sentido estricto de los grupos y centros de investigación., la formación interdisciplinaria como elemento fundamental en las nuevas tendencias de generación de conocimiento, la proyección de los jóvenes por continuar su formación en alto nivel en el tema de la investigación, entre otras. El Programa Jóvenes Investigadores es un programa que está dirigido a los estudiantes de los últimos semestres de carrera vinculados a los grupos de investigación con el objetivo de brindarles una beca de pasantía por un año para continuar su formación investigativa. | English abstract | Two strategies implemented, during a period of ten years, in the University of the North for the formation of university young people in investigation are analyzed: the Program Young Investigators and the Program Semilleros de Investigación. By means of these strategies in the University a great amount of professionals with investigative profile has formed and the investigative activity of interdisciplinary form has been stimulated in its students. The Program Semilleros de Investigación of the University is a program that is directed to the students as of the fourth semester, of the different academic programs from the Institution. It is offered to the student like a extracurricular activity, frees and spontaneous for the interested students; it counts on a process systematized of inscription, evaluation and selection which allows at the end of the process to choose a select group of students who by their interest and motivation to improve their investigative competitions enter him. The Program Young Investigating is a program that is directed to the students of the last semesters of tie race to the groups of investigation with the objective to offer them to a scholarship peasant by a year to continue its investigative formation. These processes are made annually and in average 15 investigating young people with internal resources choose themselves.
