| Spanish abstract | En este artículo se analiza la figura del Anticristo, que es el protagonista de la comedia, en el contexto del milenarismo cristiano. La definición dramática del carácter del personaje se inspira tanto en textos bíblicos como en la leyenda que se fue construyendo a través del tiempo sobre el Enemigo Final. Se advierte que en el desarrollo de la acción se pone en evidencia una preocupación que estuvo presente en la España de esa época: la distinción entre la falsedad o la verdad de ciertas experiencias sobrenaturales. En el final, aparece sobre la base del estoicismo, el triunfo del hombre espiritual, el mártir, que triunfa sobre el perseguidor de los cristianos, que es el Anticristo. Se trata también de destacar la unidad de composición del texto en cuanto que se realiza en todo momento en el tono adecuado que expresa con fuerza la dimensión espiritual de los hechos que se recrean |
| English abstract | In this article I analize the figure of the Anticristo, protagonist of the comedy, in the context of christian millenarism. The dramatic definition of the character’s nature is inspired by biblical texts as well as in the legend about the Final Enemy. During the progress of the action a procupation present in Spain at that time is made evident: the distinction between falseness or the truth about certain supernatural experiences. At the end, on the basis of stoicism, the triumph over the chaser of christians, the Anticristo. I also intend to highlight the text composition as a unit as it is realized at all times in the appropriate tone which strongly expresses the spiritual dimension of the events that are being recreated |
