| Spanish abstract | El artículo tiene por objeto un análisis del comportamiento las de exportaciones de la industria textil y de la confección de México en comparación con el líder mundial de la industria que es China, durante el periodo de 1995 al 2011, a través del índice normalizado de la ventaja comparativa revelada. Se parte de la hipótesis, que el índice de productividad laboral afectó de manera positiva a la competitividad. La hipótesis se comprueba mediante un análisis de correlación de variables. Los resultados muestran una pérdida de competitividad de la industria en México; por el contrario, China aumenta gradualmente su competitividad |
| English abstract | The article aims at an analysis of the export performance of the textile and garment industry of Mexico with the world leader of the industry that is China, during the period from 1995 to 2011, through the standardized index of comparative revealed advantage. It is based on the hypothesis that the labor productivity index positively affected competitiveness. The hypothesis is verified by a correlation analysis of variables. The results show a loss of competitiveness of the industry in Mexico, on the contrary, China gradually increases its competitiveness |
