| English abstract | The increase of tubular sections in steel construction has created a need for methods to rationalize the connections for tubular frames. This paper presents a theoretical and experimental analysis of the hollow-steel-column base plates under eccentricity loads. Experimental results were compared with the results in existing literature. The experimental program involved the use of stub columns with steel base plates connected by anchor bolts set in a strenght-controlled concrete foundation. Analyzing the experimental results in comparison to the theoretical evaluations, the results showed that majority of the theoretical analytical expressions were conservative. All the analysis was based on the elastic limit of the material |
| Portuguese abstract | O aumento do uso de seções tubulares em estruturas metálicas tem destacado a necessidade de métodos que racionalizem as ligações parafusadas de barras tubulares. Nesse trabalho, foi desenvolvido um estudo teórico-experimental do comportamento das ligações de placas de base de colunas em perfil tubular circular solicitados à força axial e momento fletor. Esses estudos foram realizados de modo a avaliar e comparar os resultados experimentais com as avaliações teóricas apresentadas em prescrições e literaturas existentes. O programa experimental envolve ensaios em colunas curtas com placas de base conectadas através de chumbadores a uma base de concreto com resistência controlada. A partir das comparações dos resultados experimentais com as avaliações teóricas, concluiu-se que as formulações propostas pela maioria das prescrições são conservadoras. As análises realizadas nesse trabalho foram na fase linear elástica |
