| Spanish abstract | Se estudia la relación del servicio de préstamo de las bibliotecas con el resto de sus servicios y secciones, sus áreas de incidencia, sus posibilidades y potencial para la proyección y planificación de servicios y actividades. El trabajo de campo incluye diferentes tipos de bibliotecas y recopila la opinión de profesionales en el tema. Los resultados obtenidos permiten identificar una serie de actividades realizadas desde este servicio según distintos tipos de bibliotecas, a la vez que se brinda un acercamiento a las nuevas dimensiones que adquiere el servicio de préstamo en el marco de los contenidos digitales. Del estudio surge la relevancia de este servicio a nivel institucional, ya que constituye su cara visible y el espacio donde se realiza el contacto directo con el usuario. En este servicio pueden detectarse necesidades y recabarse información relevante para la toma de decisiones |
| English abstract | The present article is about the relationship of loan service in libraries with the other services and sections of it. It studies their areas of impact, its possibilities and potential for projection and planning of services and activities. The field work includes different types of libraries and it collects the opinion of information professionals. The results of the investigation identifies a number of activities made at this service according to the different types of libraries and provides an approach to the new dimensions that acquires the loan service under digital content. The importance of this service in the institutional context emerges from this study. It constitutes the visible face of the library and the frame where the library user has his first contact with the information unit. At the same time it is the service where we can identify needs and collect relevant information for decision-making |
