| Spanish abstract | En este artículo se estudia la organización y el funcionamiento de la comunidad de correos del reino de Valencia a principios del siglo XVI, con especial atención a la cofradía de la Virgen de los Ángeles, sus conflictos internos y sus relaciones con otras instituciones y corporaciones. Asimismo, se analiza el impacto político y administrativo que tuvo la concesión por Carlos V del monopolio postal a la familia Tassis, y la centralidad del servicio de correos en la naciente Monarquía Hispánica |
| English abstract | This article studies the organization and functioning of the postal community of the kingdom of Valencia at the beginning of the 16th century, paying special attention to the brotherhood of the Virgin of the Angels, its internal conflicts and its relations with other institutions and corporations. Likewise, the political and administrative impact of the concession by Carlos V of the postal monopoly to the Tassis family, and the centrality of the postal service in the nascent Spanish Monarchy, are analyzed |
