| Spanish abstract | Una de las directrices más importantes en la prevención, tratamiento y control de la tuberculosis pulmonar (TB) es incrementar el conocimiento sobre la TB en los pacientes y familiares, ya que a mayor conocimiento se incrementa el apego y se evita el abandono. A partir de lo anterior es que el objetivo del presente trabajo fue, a partir de un cuestionario estructurado, evaluar el grado de conocimientos que posee la población diagnosticada con TB y un familiar cercano, en el periodo 2003-2004, en Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, México. Los resultados muestran que el conocimiento general sobre la TB es medio y la prevención baja, lo que evidencia un enfoque curativo más que preventivo de la información que recibe el paciente |
| English abstract | One of the most importants directives of the Health Services in the prevention, treatment and control of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), is to increase the levels of knowledge of TB patients and relatives, because it has been demonstrated that to greater knowledge, there is a increase of the adherence to the treatment and abandonment is avoided. So the goal of this work was to evaluate the grade of knowledge of people diagnosticated with TB and one relative in the 2003-2004 period in Tierra Blanca Veracruz, Mexico. The results shows that the knowledge in general is medium and the prevention is low, which evidence one healing more than preventive information that the patient receives |
