| English abstract | The purpose of this paper is to present a discussion around the motives of a group of students to participate in investigative tasks in the mathematics classroom in a cultural historical perspective. Whereas the motives are various and emerging social tangle which individuals are part, we use the theory Cultural History Activity as a theoretical analysis, since it considers human development as something that happens when individuals participate in social groups. The qualitative analysis of the data obtained through interviews with the four students of the group showed that the motives that lead them to participate in investigative tasks may be related to it, but not only. The social environment in which students are entered can be as, or even more important for the emergence of motives |
| Portuguese abstract | A proposta deste artigo é apresentar uma discussão em torno dos motivos de um grupo de estudantes para participarem de tarefas investigativas na aula de Matemática em uma perspectiva histórico-cultural. Considerando que os motivos são vários e que emergem no emaranhado social do qual os indivíduos fazem parte, utilizamos a Teoria Histórico-Cultural da Atividade como referencial teórico de análise, uma vez que ela considera o desenvolvimento humano como algo que se dá quando os indivíduos participam em grupos sociais. A análise qualitativa dos dados, obtidos por meio de entrevistas com os estudantes do grupo, sujeitos da pesquisa, mostrou que os motivos que os levam a participar de tarefas investigativas podem estar relacionados a elas, mas não somente. O entorno social no qual os estudantes estão inseridos pode ser tão, ou até mais importante para o surgimento de motivos |
