| Spanish abstract | Mediante un análisis histórico de la Constitución mexicana en materia de nacionalidad se evidencia cómo el discurso constitucional del derecho, a través de un lenguaje aparentemente neutro, excluía explícitamente a las mujeres mas no implícitamente, ya que las necesitaba como elemento instrumental en la construcción de la nacionalidad y, por ende, de la nación. El derecho constitucional reproducía género, al contemplar a las mujeres sólo en su carácter de procreadoras, madres y esposas, estatus esencializados en las mujeres, los cuales expresan las relaciones de género prevalentes en la sociedad de la época |
| English abstract | Through an historical analysis of the Mexican Constitution on nationality matters, it is evident how the constitutional speech of law, with a seemingly neutral language, was excluding explicitly women but not implicitly because it needed them as an instrumental element in the construction of nationality and therefore of the nation. The constitutional law was reproducing gender, when contemplating to the women only in their character of procreators, mothers and wives; the inherent status given to the women, which denotes and outlines the prevailing gender relations in the society of that period |
