| Spanish abstract | La Comisión Mundial sobre Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo se formó en el año de 1983 como un cuerpo independiente de los gobiernos y del sistema que conforma la Organización de las Naciones Unidas. Y fué en 1984 cuando se reúne por primera vez, a solicitud urgente de la Asamblea General de ese organismo para establecer lo que denominó como Agenda Global para el Cambio, con la firme convicción de establecer un futuro para la humanidad “más próspero, más justo y más seguro”. Con ese enfoque se publica en 1987 el informe “Nuestro Futuro Común” (Our Common Future), que pretendía hacer un urgente llamado al mundo para tomar decisiones que permitieran conservar los recursos para las generaciones presente y asegurarlos para las futuras. Atendiendo a que no se podía separar el tema de desarrollo económico del tema de medio ambiente, la Comisión centró su atención en varios rubros, que sirvieron como marco de referencia; así mismo existen principios básicos que rigen la naturaleza y es muy necesario conocer. Por lo tanto se hace notar la importancia de formar ciudadanos conscientes de su entorno al momento de contribuir al desarrollo de su comunidad sin poner en riesgo los recursos existentes para las generaciones venideras |
| English abstract | The World Commission on Environment and Development was formed in 1983 as a body independent of governments and the United Nations system. And it was in 1984 when he met for the first time, at the urgent request of the General Assembly of that body to establish what he called the Global Agenda for Change, with the firm conviction of establishing a future for humanity "more prosperous, more just And safer”. With this approach the "Our Common Future" report was published in 1987, which aimed to make an urgent call to the world to make decisions that conserve resources for present generations and secure them for future generations. Taking care of that the subject of economic development could not be separated from the issue of the environment, the Commission focused its attention on several items, which served as a frame of reference; so there are basic principles that govern nature and it is very necessary to know. Therefore it is noted the importance of educating citizens aware of their environment when contributing to the development of their community without putting at risk the existing resources for generations to come |
