| Spanish abstract | El artículo se inscribe en la línea de investigación "Sistemas productivos locales, innovación tecnológica y desarrollo regional", derivado del proyecto auspiciado por el Programa de Mejoramiento del Profesorado titulado “Red de empresas sociales y desarrollo local en el sistema productivo jitomate en Las Margaritas, Chiapas”, con él se busca provocar la reflexión sobre las implicaciones detrás de una bonanza económica derivado de un proceso de innovación tecnológica en el sector agrícola. Describe los cambios en la estructura productiva agrícola en la región geográfica denominada “Meseta Comiteca”, donde el cultivo del jitomate ha propiciado el surgimiento de un sistema empresarial: Sistema Productivo Jitomate (SPJ). Con ello, se ha incrementado la posibilidad de mejorar el ingreso de los habitantes de un importante número de localidades de la región. Al mismo tiempo, el entusiasmo por el ingreso económico, ha intensificado la producción de esta hortaliza de tal manera que todavía no se dimensiona en su cabal magnitud, la serie de problemas y amenazas que significan para el medio ambiente la “jitomatización” que se experimenta en la región de estudio, lo que adquiere relevancia, si se considera que el sistema productivo del jitomate, se sustenta en una base de recursos naturales |
| English abstract | The article fits in the line of research "Local productive systems, technological innovation, and regional development", derived from the project sponsored by the Program of Improvement of Teachers, entitled “Network of social enterprises and local development in the tomatoes productive system in Las Margaritas, Chiapas”, he seeks to provoke reflection about the implications behind economic prosperity derived from a process of technological innovation in the agricultural sector. Describes the changes in the agricultural production structure in the region geographic called “Comitec plateau”, where the cultivation of tomatoes has led to the emergence of a business system: System productive tomato (SPJ). This has increased the possibility of improving the income of the inhabitants of a large number of towns in the region. At the same time, the enthusiasm for economic income, has intensified the production of this vegetable in such a way that not yet is dimensions in its full magnitude, the series of problems and threats that mean for the environment the “jitomatización” that is experienced in the study region, which becomes relevant, if it is considered that the tomato production system rests on a base of natural resources |
