| Spanish abstract | Este artículo revisa las premisas principales de Wilhelm von Humboldt, las cuales fueron medulares para el desarrollo de la lingüística del siglo XX. También, pretende hacer una revaloración de este filósofo del lenguaje que ha quedado oscurecido por una supuesta psicología de las razas velada en su teoría general, lo cual demostramos que ha sido una interpretación equivocada, a partir de la explicación de su concepto de nación y espíritu de una lengua. De igual modo, hace una comparación con las ideas que después desarrollaron algunos de sus continuadores más notables como De Saussure y Fritz Mauthner |
| English abstract | This essay reviews the main premises of Wilhelm von Humboldt, which they have been central to the development of the language of the twentieth century. It also aims to make a reassessment of this philosopher of language, given that his general theory has been darkened by an alleged “race psychology”; so that we will elucidate this misunderstanding, to explaining his concept about nation and spirit of a language. By the same token, we reach a comparison with the ideas developed from after by some of his most brilliant followers as Saussure and Fritz Mauthner |
