| Spanish abstract | La educación aplicada es una herramienta pedagógica que sobrepasa las fronteras del aula de clase, al hacer referencia a la comprensión de conceptos en una realidad. La salida de campo a Meremberg, una de las primeras reservas de la sociedad civil de Colombia, con fines académicos e investigativos, le proporciona al Programa de Ingeniería Ambiental de la Corporación Universitaria del Huila (Corhuila) una estrategia de enseñanza porque les permite a los estudiantes de quinto semestre, en la asignatura Sistemas Ambientales, interactuar directamente con la naturaleza y detectar problemas ambientales modernos. Previamente, formulan una pregunta de investigación con alcance temporal de un día, un objetivo general y dos específicos, metodología apropiada y formatos de campo validados. Entre las temáticas investigativas figuran diversidad de flora y fauna, suelo, erosión, deforestación, ganadería, problemas e impactos ambientales, valor paisajístico y ecosistemas estratégicos. Los estudiantes presentan un informe escrito tipo artículo científico, que se clasifica y postula a la revista Vigías Ambientales (ISSN 2145-8286), del programa. Se publican siete artículos. Así mismo, los estudiantes articulan conocimientos adquiridos en los cuatro semestres en las disciplinas Biología, Química Ambiental, Teoría General de Sistemas, Meteorología y Climatología, Probabilidad y Estadística, Ecología y Estudio del Paisaje, Geología Ambiental y Mecánica de Suelos. La actividad académica en campo facilita la formación integral del futuro profesional en ingeniería ambiental, interpreta una realidad teórica desde el aula de clase y la contrasta con la realidad ambiental; el estudiante fortalece su proceso de sensibilización ambiental, identificando directamente los efectos antrópicos en el medio ambiente y la necesidad de buscar o proponer soluciones potencialmente viables a corto, mediano y largo plazo |
| English abstract | Applied education is a pedagogical tool that surpasses the limits of the classroom boundaries, in relation to the understanding of concepts in a reality. The field trip to one of the first Reservations of Civil Society of Colombia “Meremberg” with academic and investigative purposes provides the Environmental Engineering Program at the University Corporation of Huila (Corhuila) a teaching strategy allowing V-semester students in the environmental systems subject to directly interact with nature and detect modern environmental problems. Before the field trip, a one-day long research question is formulated, a general objective and two specific, appropriate methodology and validated field formats. Among the research topics are: flora and fauna diversity, soil, erosion, deforestation, cattle rising, environmental problems, environmental impacts, landscape value and strategic ecosystems. Students present a paper-typology written report, which are classified and postulated to be published in a magazine called Environmental sentinels ISSN 2145-8286. Until now 7 articles have been published. Likewise students articulate knowledge acquired in the four semesters taken in disciplines like biology, Environmental Chemistry, General Systems Theory, Meteorology and Climatology, Probability and Statistics, Ecology and Landscape Study, Environmental Geology and Soil Mechanics. The academic activity in the field facilitates the integral formation of the professional-to be in Environmental Engineering, allowing the interpretation of a theoretical reality from the classroom and contrasts it with an environmental reality; the student strengthens her of environmental awareness process, getting to directly identify the anthropogenic effects on the environment and the need to search and/or propose short, medium and long term solutions potentially viable, aiming at recovering protecting and conserving natural resources |
