English abstract This article explores certain icons and symbols that insinuate —through exalted eroticism— the experience of recognizing the sacred within the human being, particularly those symbols in which an enthusiasm for and the idea of liberation (moks.a) converge. I will focus, not as a restriction but as a guide, on a triad of related images, icons and occasionally symbols: the heart (hr. dayam), the pulse (spanda) and the temple (mandiram). The methodology used involves not only philosophical analysis, but also its philological and indological foundations. The focus point is a group of texts by the sage Abhinavagupta (x and xi centuries in Kashmir, India), andI therefore advocate for a contemporary hermeneutics of classic and medieval sanskrit philosophical texts. The guide is a simple question: how to interpret today the symbols and images —created in the x and xi centuries in India— of the heart, the pulse and the temple? What meaning lies in rethinking the idea of the liberation from suffering (moks.a) in a contemporary context?
