| English abstract | Objective: To analyze the use of “cold porcelain” orthoses for the performing of act of playing of the child with motor deficit. Methods: Applied research, quantitative and qualitative, in the Center for Integrated Healthcare (NAMI) in Fortaleza - CE, Brazil. The investigation occurred in the period from February to June 2008. Sample of 22 children, 14 selected in the survey entitled “Reduction in costs for making orthoses” and 8 indicated by professionals. We applied semi-structured interviews with officials, evaluate the play behavior based on the Protocol of Ferland. In the analysis of qualitative information, we used Bardin’s Content Analysis. For quantitative data, we used the statistical treatment of Morettin. Results: The qualitative categories were organized into three: the parents’ opinion about the act of playing of their children, type of toy and improvement in occupational performance with the use of orthosis. The quantitative analysis allowed the consolidation of data in tables, after the Behavior Assessment Playful, applied in the beginning and in the end of the study. Conclusions: This study showed, therefore, that the use of “cold porcelain” orthoses interfered, overwhelmingly, both in performing of the act of playing of the children who participated in this research, as well as in occupational performance in various areas, passing by significant changes, bringing value also in the interest, ability to perform an activity and relationships and feelings |
| Portuguese abstract | Objetivo: Analisar a utilização da órtese confeccionada com porcelana fria para a realização do ato de brincar da criança com défice motor. Métodos: Pesquisa aplicada, quantitativa e qualitativa, no Núcleo de Assistência Médica Integrada (NAMI) em Fortaleza - CE, Brasil. A investigação ocorreu no período de fevereiro a junho de 2008. Amostra constituída por 22 crianças, sendo 14 selecionadas na pesquisa intitulada “Redução nos custos para a confecção de órteses” e 8 indicadas por profissionais. Aplicou-se entrevista semiestruturada com os responsáveis; avaliação do comportamento lúdico baseado no protocolo de Ferland. Na análise das informações qualitativas; utilizou-se Analise de Conteúdo de Bardin. Para os dados quantitativos, utilizamos o tratamento estatístico de Morettin. Resultados: As categorias qualitativas foram organizadas em três: opinião dos pais em relação ao ato de brincar de seus filhos, tipo de brinquedo e melhora no desempenho ocupacional com o uso da órtese. A análise quantitativa permitiu a consolidação dos dados em tabelas, após a Avaliação do Comportamento Lúdico, aplicada no início e ao final da pesquisa. Conclusões: O estudo comprovou, por conseguinte, que a utilização da órtese confeccionada com porcelana fria interferiu, de forma preponderante, tanto na realização do ato de brincar das crianças que participaram desta pesquisa, como também no desempenho ocupacional em suas diversas áreas, passando por modificações consideráveis, reunindo valor também no interesse, na capacidade de realizar uma atividade e nos relacionamentos e sentimentos |
