| Spanish abstract | La noción de "género" se ha utilizado de diversos modos a lo largo de la historia. Sin reconocer que es una noción análoga, se ha confundido al género en tanto hecho, con los estudios que lo abordan y con las propuestas políticas que visibilizan los problemas y necesidades ocasionados por la construcción social que interpreta el sexo y la sexualidad. Este estudio se centrará en la evidencia de la existencia de la diferenciación sexual y en el reconocimiento de las múltiples modalidades de su realización socio-cultural e histórica. | English abstract | The notion of "gender" has been used through history with many meanings. Without recognizing it analogous condition, that notion has been useful to speak about a fact, the studies that analyze this fact and the public policies that try to make visible the problems that rise within society by the social construction that interprets sex and sexuality. This paper focuses on the evidence of the existence of sexual differentiation and in the recognition of the multiple forms of its socio-cultural and historical realization.
