| Spanish abstract | Este artículo se refiere a la importancia de las experiencias vividas por aquellas naciones y personas que han sufrido la barbarie y que requieren pensar sobre ella. La memoria de las vidas particulares revela contradicciones que no corresponden con la historia oficial, pero que tiene un significado que permite pensar los contextos que producen la guerra y las catástrofes. La historia entendida como me - moria de esas vidas particulares se abre a las vidas de las víctimas, de los sobrevivientes de la guerra, quienes por lo general no tienen un lugar en esa historia. De alguna manera, todos los humanos hemos sido afectados, no podemos escapar a los hechos violentos y seguir viviendo con indiferencia. Adorno reclama a los sobrevivientes, a los espectadores, asumir la dialéctica negativa , como la autorreflexión del pensamiento que «implica pensar contra sí mismo», que inter - pretó como la obligación de no dejar pasar los hechos violentos que afectan a la humanidad toda y que no solo competen a los actores implicados directamente: los verdugos y sus víctimas. En este artículo se presenta la propuesta de relación entre ética y memoria guiada por la reflexión adorniana ¿Cómo es posible una propuesta ética que surja del encuentro con la memoria? |
| English abstract | The departure point of this paper is the experience done by those nations who suffered barbarian catastrophes that still re - quire to be thought. In fact, memory of particular individuals who suffered brings often in contradiction the official history, so their stories should be taken into account in order to understand the contexts that produce war and such disasters. This is the reason why History has recently tried to make room to the experience of victims, the war survivors, and has defined itself more as an exer - cise of memory. Somehow, all humans have been affected by such violence and cannot escape from it by living in indifference. Adorno asks the survivors to assume what he calls the negative dialectics , that is the self-reflection of thought which «means thinking against himself». He interpreted the expression as the obligation to attend to the violence that was inflicted to all humanity in the particular individuals directly involved: the executioners and their victims. This paper reflects on the relation between ethics and reflection guided by Adorno’s philosophy and tries to answer the following question: How can an ethical proposal be derived from the encoun - ter with the memory? |
