| English abstract | The article retakes the old discussion on the sin that some fallen angels committed with women in Genesis 6:1-4, and their imprisonment, in the light of 1 Peter 3:18-22, Jude 6, and also 2 Peter 2:4. It considers the historical development of the subject ans the controversies around it, especially among the church fathers until Augustine, and its reconsideration in our time among the main conservative and reformed commentators on the letters of Jude and Peter. The relationship of angels and women is defended on the basis of Genesis 6:1-4 by means of apocryphal and pseudo-epigraphical literature. Through a textual, exegetical, and theological comparison of the passages in 1 Peter, 2 Peter, and Jude with the book of 1 Enoch, the articles argues that such interpretation is also supported by these New Testament books. The article discusses some implications of this theory and offers explanations for some of its most controversial aspects |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo retoma a antiga discussão sobre a questão do pecado de alguns anjos com mulheres em Gênesis 6.1-4, e seu aprisionamento, à luz dos textos de 1Pedro 3.18-22, Judas 6 e também 2Pedro 2.4. Considera o desenvolvimento histórico do assunto e suas controvérsias, especialmente entre os primeiros pais da igreja até Agostinho, e a retomada do mesmo na época atual entre os principais comentaristas conservadores e reformados dos livros de Judas e Pedro. O relacionamento dos anjos com as mulheres é sustentado a partir do texto de Gênesis 6.1-4 por meio da literatura apócrifa e pseudoepígrafa. O artigo defende que essa interpretação é sustentada também pelos livros de 1 e 2 Pedro e Judas, a partir de uma comparação textual, exegética e teológica dessas passagens com o livro de 1Enoque. O artigo discute algumas implicações dessa teoria e oferece explicações para alguns dos pontos mais controversos |
