| Spanish abstract | Se describió la morfología de los otolitos sagittae de nueve especies de la familia Carangidae que habita en la costa central de México. Los especímenes fueron capturados con una red de 800 metros durante cinco recolectas de Enero a Noviembre del 2010. Se realizó una comparación de las principales características morfológicas entre especies. También se calculó la relación entre el tamaño del otolito y el tamaño del pez. Los resultados muestran claramente la variabilidad específica de las sagittae y su relación con el hábitat |
| English abstract | The morphology of sagittae otolith of nine species of family Carangidae inhabiting off the Central coast of Mexico were described. The specimens were captured with a seine 800 m during five surveys between January to November 2010. A comparison of the main morphological characteristic among species was performed. Moreover, the ratio between otolith size and fish size were calculated. The results clearly showed the specific variability of sagittae and its relationship with the habit |
