| Spanish abstract | La convocatoria a Cortes, los procesos electorales que se ejecutaron para cumplir con esta convocatoria así como la sanción y aplicación de la Constitución gaditana en la provincia de Venezuela generaron diversas respuestas por parte de las autoridades de la monarquía y también por quienes dieron inicio al proceso de Independencia. Este artículo persigue analizar el impacto de la iniciativa gaditana en la provincia de Venezuela así como las disímiles interpretaciones y actuaciones que suscitaron cada uno de estos hechos durante las complejas y cambiantes circunstancias que caracterizaron el período transcurrido desde la convocatoria a Cortes hasta la sanción y aplicación de la Constitución de Cádiz, período en el que se da inicio a la Independencia de Venezuela y se sanciona la Constitución republicana de 1811 |
| English abstract | The call to Court, the electoral processes that were executed to fulfill this call as well as the sanction and application of the gaditana Constitution in the province of Venezuela generated diverse answers on behalf of the authorities of the monarchy and by those who initiated the process of independence. This article tries to analyze the impact of the gaditana initiative in the province of Venezuela as well as the dissimilar interpretations and interventions that provoked each one of these events during the complex and changing circumstances that characterized the period passed from the call to Court to the sanction and application of the Constitution of Cadiz, period in the Independence of Venezuela was initiated and the republican Constitution of 1811 was sanctioned |
