| Spanish abstract | La película El Chacal de Nahueltoro puede ser analizada como una exploración del pasado desde el discurso cinematográfico. La cinta, rodada en 1969, recrea hechos acaecidos en 1960, pero además cuestiona la estructura social chilena y la existencia de formas de dominación en el campo que provienen de tiempos coloniales. Ese tema de fondo fue llevado a la pantalla después de un trabajo de documentación del director Miguel Littín y su equipo, muy similar al tipo de labor que realizan los historiadores, aunque privilegiando una forma de entender lo histórico donde se visibiliza la experiencia y la voz de los sectores subalternos |
| English abstract | The film El Chacal de Nahueltoro can be analyzed as an exploration of the past from the discourse of cinema. Filmed in 1969, the movie recreates events actually occurred in 1960, but also questions the Chilean social structure and the existence of patterns of domination in the country originated in colonial times. That issue was brought to the screen after a documentary work made by director Miguel Littín and his crew, much like the kind of work done by historians, although favoring an understanding of the historical matter that shed light on the experience and voice of subaltern subjects |
